TYRE (Tabernacle Youth Reconnect)

The following is an original French poem written by our brother in Christ, Joel Dort. It is an acrostic poem in which the first letter of each line spells out the name Tabernacle (our former church)  when read vertically. We have provided a rough English translation of the poem, but you can read the original version by visiting the French page.

TYRE

In April 2021, we founded TYRE (Tabernacle Youth Reconnect), a group consisting of nearly 50 individuals, most of whom are former members of our church's youth group in our home country, Haiti. Our primary objective as a group was to honor our former pastor and his wife, Esperance & Marianne Julsaint, whose teachings were invaluable to each one of us. Following the tribute ceremony, many of us realized the importance of staying connected to collaborate and support one another.  Since we reconnected, we felt a strong desire to give back to our home country. We donated $5.2K to the local school and church, hoping to contribute towards improving education and supporting the community. Additionally, we have been showing solidarity with our brothers and sisters through acts of kindness during difficult times. We believe that even small gestures can make a big impact, and by working together, God will use us to bring about changes that can transform our generation.
